Tuulivoimapuisto Tyrinselkä Oy and Empower have signed the main contractor agreement regarding a wind farm to be built near Turku, at the border of the municipalities of Humppila and Jokioinen in western Finland. The wind farm will consist of four Nordex N131 turbines, each with a capacity of three megawatts. The annual power production of the wind farm will be about 42,000 megawatt hours, equivalent to the annual consumption of some 3000 electrically heated detached houses.
The value of the contract exceeds EUR 4 million, and it includes the planning and construction of a substation, required roads, lifting platforms, foundations and a 20-kilovolt internal network. Additionally, Empower will be responsible for the services and maintenance of the wind farm while in operation.
The planning of the project has commenced, and the turbines and construction work are scheduled to be finalised during early summer 2016.
“The wind power business is one of our significant growth areas. The agreement with Tyrinselkä Oy is an important milestone in expanding our customer base,” says Timo Kiiveri, President of the Power Network Division at Empower.
