Empower part of one of Sweden`s largest industrial projects
Empower`s Industry Services have been chosen as Valmet`s supplier to Södra Cell's extensive enlargement of the pulp mill in Värö.
The contract with Valmet covers prefabrication and installation of piping and installation of mechanical equipment at the evaporation part of the Södra CellVärö site.Valmet has a total responsibility of the expansion of the plant that will lead to an increase in production capacity from 425 000 tons to 700 000 tons of pulp per year, the project being one of Sweden's largest industry projects. The factory will also become more energy efficient, increasing Södra's deliveries of green energy even further in order to replace fossil fuels in the society. In 2010, Södra Cell Värö became independent of fossil fuels during normal operations as the first mill in the world.
- It feels very good to be involved in this project and contribute to a sustainable expansion of the plant. It supports our vision of a more sustainable society, says Anders Öhrblad, Business Unit Director at the Empower`s Industry Services.
Empower has previously carried out several mechanical and piping installations for both Valmet and the end customer Södra Cell. This agreement represents a renewed confidence for Empower as their supplier.
- This is a big commitment and we are happy that Valmet has chosen us as their supplier. It is proof that we have the right competence and that we deliver what we promise along with implementing the highest possible work safety measures, continues Anders Öhrblad.
The project is expected to take place from October 2015 until June 2016 and will employ approximately 30 men at most. Some recruitments may be necessary.
