Empower awarded Saukkovaara wind farm contract in Posio, Finland
Posion Energia Oy has contracted Empower regarding project management, project planning and construction of a wind farm in Saukkovaara, Posio in Northern Finland. The wind farm will have seven Vestas V126 turbines, each with a power output of 3.3 megawatts. The annual power production of the wind park will be about 80,000 megawatt-hours, equivalent to the consumption of some 5,300 electrically heated detached houses.
The value of the contract exceeds EUR 6 million, and it also covers the engineering and construction of a substation, required roads, lifting platforms, foundations and a 20-kilovolt internal network, as well as acceptance inspection of the turbines.
Posion Energia Oy is a company that has been established for the project and is owned by E-Group, a Slovakian company. The planning work for the project is in progress, and the construction work will be implemented during 2015. The turbines will be erected during the spring and early summer of 2016.
