Vattenfall is one of our longest-standing customers. The company started selling and producing electricity in Finland in the mid-1990s. We were able to respond to Vattenfall's tight schedule and are still providing energy management services to Vattenfall. Our services have expanded over the years, most recently in November 2013, when the use of an operation control system for controlling hydropower plants was agreed upon.

Empower is currently responsible for handling a large portion of Vattenfall Oy's daily electricity market operations. Among the 24/7 services provided by Empower's control room are production monitoring and control, as well as Elbas and regulating power trading.

– For us, it is important that Empower's control room in Porvoo can communicate fluently with our central control room located in Stockholm, while contacts with Finnish parties are carried out in Finnish. Vattenfall's operations in Finland have changed shape many times, and Empower has always been able to adapt flexibly to any changes in our service needs. The solutions offered by Empower have also been cost-effective. We obtain clear benefits from receiving not only energy data management and control room services, but also maintenance services from a single partner. Cooperation between the control room and maintenance is seamless, leading to fewer misunderstandings and making sure that nothing is forgotten, says Erik Mälkki, Director of Hydro Fleet Management at Vattenfall Oy.
