Improving reliability with professional internal network building services
Empower forms the basis for its customers’ reliable internal network connections throughout Finland. Year 2018 included numerous cabling projects for Valtori’s (Government ICT Centre) sites and the hospital for children and adolescents that is part of the Tays front yard project, for instance.
In 2018, Empower built diverse internal network connections for Valtori, a service center responsible for the ICT connections of the state’s agencies and bodies. One of the year’s largest Valtori projects was related to Natural Resources Institute Finland’s premises in Inari, where cabling was built in several properties utilizing pipes. Work started in late 2017 but the slow thawing of frozen soil extended the schedule to the following summer when cabling was finally completed.
During 2018, Empower also worked to ensure the functionality of ICT connections in the Pirkanmaa region, where Empower has established strong customer base in the healthcare sector over the years. In several buildings of the Pirkanmaa Hospital District, Empower’s general cabling is the solid foundation for reliable ICT systems.
"Internal networks are naturally very significant for companies and public organizations in society today. When building ICT connections, future data transfer needs are taken into account."
– Internal networks are naturally very significant for companies and public organizations in society today. When building ICT connections, future data transfer needs are taken into account. Especially in hospitals, well-functioning connections are crucial. General cabling plays a key role in the data transfer among many systems and a lot of attention is paid to their reliability, says Simo Roihu, Project Manager in Charge at Empower in the Pirkanmaa region.
The largest general cabling project in the Tampere region was for the Tays hospital for children and adolescents that is part of the Tays reformation program and, more specifically, of its front yard project. Empower started the one-year cabling project in early 2018 and the handover will take place in spring 2019. The project has been praised by SRV, the main contractor of the project.
– Empower has performed faultlessly in all aspects and the quality of work is excellent. Everything has happened on schedule, which is important for us in the big picture, notes Esa Kopra, Technical Building Systems Manager at SRV.
