Significant network users to be measured in real-time
Svenska kraftnät is activating 2019 the EU Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1485 that is establishing a guideline on electricity transmission system operation. The regulation is to harmonize rules on system operation for transmission system operators (‘TSOs’), distribution system operators (‘DSOs’) and significant grid users (‘SGUs’).
This is to set out in order to provide a clear legal framework for system operation, facilitate Union-wide trade in electricity, ensure system security, and ensure the availability and exchange of necessary data and information between TSOs and between TSOs and all other stakeholders. Also, to facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources, allow more efficient use of the network and increase competition for the benefit of consumers. Significant network users should be measured in real time 2019.
Svenska kraftnät came out with additional information on December 17 regarding the real-time measurement activation for electricity producers and consumers of considerable size. The significant grid users have been classified as follows, a production facility having an installed power greater than or equal to 1.5 MW, a consumer of electricity connected direct to the main grid, an electricity user/producer providing demand flexibility, an HVDC connection. Svenska kraftnät writes that the responsibility for delivering real-time measurement values for the area lies with the network owner and this is to be agreed with those concerned.
