The Empower customer information platform EnerimCIS has become the market leader in Finland – and has some very exiting benefits that are new to the Swedish market. Here we describe a few of these!

Empower is using a new way of delivering customer information systems

Together with our customers, we have developed an innovative delivery model. One key aspect of this model is the joint delivery approach involving both our and our customer’s resources. This means that both parties can learn from each other’s experience, as well as shortening the delivery time.

– Our aim is to modernise our services at all times and find more efficient ways to complete projects, and we have been able to define a good model together with our customers. What is exceptional about this project is that Empower delivers the service to energy companies as a joint delivery. This new service model provides the companies involved with significant synergy benefits, as we can combine specific project phases, making the project more efficient. At the same time, energy companies can learn from one another and share their best practices, says Mika Yletyinen, President of Empower IM.

Proven in operation: The Enerim platform meets all new market regulations

Well-developed cloud-based platforms and attractive service offerings have made Empower become the market leader in the Finnish energy system market.

Hourly measurement and hourly settlement was introduced in Finland several years ago. Empowers' newly developed customer information system EnerimCIS has a modern architecture that now handles more than 50% of all electricity customers in Finland. Sweden's new requirements for metering systems drives a gradual introduction of hourly measurement and hourly calculation up to the end of 2024.
In parallel with this, the Swedish electricity market hub will go live. We also have this functionality at Empower already in operation with our customers in Denmark who already have a national HUB in operation.

The role of electricity customers in the electricity market will develop rapidly in the future. At the same time, power utilities want to develop their relations with end customers. Empower is developing a solution to both these trends. A new platform that supports the new opportunities that the end customers will face – while providing a new arena for utilities to design new service offerings.

Some electricity customers will become suppliers of electric power when they, for example, install solar panels. They will also be able to make money by offering flexibility, i.e. to shift consumption over time to contribute to a balanced grid. EnerimCIS is the platform that offers completely new opportunities and experiences for end customers!

EnerimCIS, delivered as a SaaS, is supporting 700 000 customers at Caruna

The largest DSO in Finland, Caruna, with almost 700 000 customers, has implemented our EnerimCIS as a SaaS service delivery. Focusing heavily on the customer experience, the implementation has also achieved a very high degree of process automation for Caruna’s all key processes.

– At Caruna, customer experience development is one of the key goals. We have renewed our service processes, aiming for customer satisfaction and excellent customer experience quality. The EnerimCIS system contributes to these goals and provides us with fast and smoothly functioning interfaces for the service needs of both our customers and our other stakeholders, says Vesa Ojala, who was in charge of the project at Caruna.
