International cooperation within interesting projects
I started working at Empower's Power business as a Project Engineer in March 2014. I ended up at Empower because my friend recommended Empower to me, saying that it is a good company. I applied for a job the following week after that, and got it.
I have a double degree. I studied Civil Engineering in Poland and Denmark and I also have a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, which I studied in Szczecin, Poland. Before I started at Empower, I worked for a French company called ETDE, which built power lines in Finland.
Diverse tasks and interesting projects
My tasks are very diverse and they change all the time. I have been a contact person for a landowner and participated in making a commercial video for Empower. Currently I am dealing with contractors' and construction sites' legal obligations towards the tax office, assisting Project Manager in many issues regarding project running, procure subcontractors and take care of project budgeting and invoicing. Those are just some tasks among many others, which I am dealing with.
The coolest project that I have been working with at Empower was definitely the commercial video that we filmed on the Landscape towers' building project in Vaasa (Tuovila-Vaskiluoto). Together with the production team of the film, we filmed the process almost from the beginning of the project. From the foundation, to the assembly and erection of the very special landscape towers. Landscape towers are really close to my heart because of my interest in landscape architecture.
Great colleagues and future dreams
My colleagues are great. It feels good to be around them, and I get a lot of help whenever I need it. My work includes some travelling here in Finland, and I work in close collaboration with our Baltic colleagues as well, so I get to work versatilely with many great people from different towns and countries.
My dream somewhere in the future is to be a Project Manager, and then if we would expand Empower's business to the Central Europe into the Polish market, I would like to be the person responsible for the development of the business there. It would be a very challenging experience, but I am ecstatic about the idea, and I would not mind moving back to my homeland Poland, even though Finland is my homeland as well.
Travelling as a passion
Travelling is definitely my ultimate passion! I travel very much with my family around the world. I love to explore different countries and cultures. I also love diving, which comes somehow together with the travelling. I like diving because of the silence below the water, which is a perfect counterbalance to everything else. I also like to go to Zumba classes, as the Latino music and dancing are one of my passions too!
